Hello my lovely friends!
This week is full of wonderful musical escapades for us and I hope you’ll come out and have some fun!
Wednesday Apr 19th, Harris&DeBray plays Steel Toad Brewery from 7:30-10pm! If you haven’t checked this place out yet, you should. It’s in town, on the corner of Quebec and 2nd with lots of parking, great food, big spacious room (and you can see the beer brewing from almost anywhere in the room) and live blues – it’s fun! We’d love to see your smiling faces in the room. (Also, as some of you know, we need some video of Harris&DeBray playing. If any of you feel like doing that, we’d be most appreciative. But please don’t post it on Facebook. Rather, I’ll give you my bulk email info and you can send it directly to me so I can put it into a format that I can use. Thanks!!)
Friday night Apr 21st, Harris&DeBray heads out to White Rock to play The Hemingway Waterfront Public House from 7-9:30. We love the “Hemi”! Right on the waterfront, the view is spectacular. The food is great, as are all the JRG rooms and there are libations galore. And us! Yup, we’ll see you there.
On Saturday night, April 22nd, I get to play the sold out “Sisters of Soul” show at The Anza Club! Yippee!! Joani Bye, Cecile Larochelle and I are joining Billy Dixon’s Soul Train Express and we are gonna raise the roof off that place! Yes, I’m very excited about this show.
Lots more coming up in the coming weeks and months. But a couple more things I’d like to mention:
On Saturday May 6th, it’s “Ladies Sing the Blues” again at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock! Yay!! I get to join Joani Bye, Amanda Dean, Alita Dupray and Nadine States as well as Rob Montgomery’s Allstar Band and sing my heart out to all of you lovely people. Thanks to all of you who bought tickets to our two sold out shows!!
This just in: On Friday May 12th, I’ll be backing up the incredible Tanya Tagaq at The Vogue Theatre as part of the Vancouver Opera Festival by joining The Elements Choir, led by Christine Duncan! OMG! This will be a very different kind of show – Ms. Tagaq is a throat singer and performance artist. The choir will be behind her making different vocal noises when prompted by Christine. How exciting!! Tickets available at: https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/1412206
Finally, Dish N Dazzle on May 18th. This is a fundraiser for the BC Hospitality Foundation – an organization that’s very dear to my heart. This year it features the wines of Chile and fourteen of Vancouver’s top restaurants dishing out little tastes of deliciousness for you to enjoy. The Lesismore quartet will be playing there and this year, we’ll be joined by “Vancouver’s Crooning Sensation”, Bobby Bacchus! Bobby (aka Darcy Murdoch) is a double lung transplant recipient whom BCHF helped out during his illness. We are very proud to have him share the spotlight with us at this annual event. You do NOT want to miss this! There are a few tickets left and you can purchase them here: https://www.eply.com/dishndazzle2017
Okay, that’s it for now! See you at the gigs!
